IDP India has now given a green flag for the computer-delivered IELTS test; here’s all that you need to know!

In a major breakthrough update for international students aspiring to move to Canada to pursue their education, IDP India has now announced the computer-delivered mode for taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination that has been validated by the Canadian Immigration.

So, for all the international students, we list the top three things that you must know about the computer-delivered mode of the IELTS examination!

  1. Take the Test in the Comfort of Your Home City: You can now take the IELTS test in the comfort of your home city. With the computer-delivered IELTS, the test dates have been increased by leaps and bounds. You can now take the IELTS test up to 7 days a week and 3 times a day (morning, afternoon and evening) at multiple test centres that have been spread across the India. Some of the computer-delivered IELTS test locations in India are New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Amritsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Noida, Jalandhar and Jaipur.
  2. Test Format: The pattern of questions, test format, level of difficulty and the scoring criteria of the computer-delivered IELTS test remains to be the same as the paper-based IELTS. It is just that you will now be able to take the Listening, Reading and Writing module on a computer, in which you will have two minutes to review your answers after finishing the Listening test whose approximate duration will be 30-36 minutes. Whereas, the Speaking module continues to follow the previous test format wherein you will be required to have a face-to-face conversation with a certified IELTS examiner who will examine you on your language and comprehension skills.
  3. Faster Results: The computer-delivered IELTS test promises to deliver faster results within a time span of 5-7 days; which makes it a fast track process for you to apply for your Study Visa. Apart from that, the IELTS test fee remains to be almost the same i.e. INR 14,000. You will be informed about the procedure for the Speaking module as soon as you sign up for the computer-based IELTS test.

So, it is time to set the ball rolling and book your slot for the computer-based IELTS test.
